Stay Plugged In (SPIN), the premier recruiting platform for esports scholarships, and Coca-Cola Consolidated, the nation’s largest Coca-Cola bottler, announced the launch of their inaugural “Stay Plugged In Coca-Cola All-Stars” campaign on Tuesday.
Stay Plugged In and Coca-Cola Consolidated have teamed up to name the 40 best high school esports competitors in Rocket League and VALORANT to make up the inaugural 2023 Stay Plugged In All-Stars team.
“With the backing of a great partner like Coca-Cola Consolidated, the Stay Plugged In Coca-Cola All-Stars campaign will raise awareness of opportunities for high school students in esports,” said Scott Hollingsworth, Chief Operating Officer, Stay Plugged In. “Be sure to nominate a student you know at allstars.staypluggedin.gg.”
All-Stars will be chosen by a Selection Committee consisting of leading industry figures and representatives of Coca-Cola Consolidated. The Committee is looking for the next college player – selection will focus on in-game technical skills, performance in competitions, evaluation of submitted gameplay clips, as well as intangible traits like teamwork and sportsmanship.
“Coca-Cola Consolidated is proud to join Stay Plugged In in recognizing gaming’s growing role in collegiate sports. We want to see gamers succeed in competition and life and look forward to having the spotlight shine on them,” said Dan Holmes, SVP of Commercialization and Brand Marketing with Charlotte-based Coca-Cola Consolidated.

The tournament features $20,000 in prizes available with a format that sees that every player receive a minimum of $250.
“The All-Stars campaign serves as a testament to the growing opportunities in college esports,” said Sergio Brack, Director of Esports at the University of Maryland. “By bridging the gap between high school and collegiate esports, this campaign introduces an unprecedented opportunity for students to showcase their talents and potential.

Sustained acoustic medicine provides proven soft tissue healing via ZetrOZ’s patented wearable ultrasound unit
sam\u00ae Sports and Regenerative Medicine Account Manager Nicci Zontini and Director of Sales, Chris Livingstone
TRUMBULL, Conn., September 7, 2023 (Newswire.com)
The National Football League season starts September 7, and ZetrOZ Systems‘ sustained acoustic medicine (sam®) technology, covered by insurance for some NFL teams, provides a proven way to help heal soft tissue injuries.
The ZetrOZ sam® X1 and 2.0 devices are the only FDA-cleared wearable ultrasound units approved for daily home use. More than 40 clinical studies have shown that the low-intensity, long-duration ultrasound technology reduces pain and improves function without invasive surgery or potentially addictive painkillers.
ZetrOZ Systems, based in Connecticut and founded by biomedical engineer Dr. George K. Lewis, works closely with orthopedic physicians, sports medicine physicians, athletic trainers, and professional and amateur sports teams.
“We know from our relationships with medical professionals in and around a variety of sports that our sam® devices heal athletes’ soft-tissue injuries more rapidly and helps players return to practices and games more quickly,” said Lewis, who also serves as CEO of ZetrOZ Systems.
Football players are at particular risk for limb and joint injuries because of players’ need to move and change directions at high speed and of the physical contact inherent to the sport.
According to sports medicine physicians at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, the most common injuries include ankle sprains; strains of the quadriceps, hamstring, and groin areas; hip pointers; shoulder dislocations; acromioclavicular sprains; wrist and hand injuries; and concussions.
Multiple studies have found that treatment with ZetrOZ’s sam® technology effectively treats injuries to those areas of the body. For example, a 2015 level 4 clinical study by sports medicine experts at Ohio State University and Duke University found sustained acoustic medicine delivered via ZetrOZ’s sam® reduced pain and improved strength in patients’ medial/lateral elbow tendons and Achilles tendons.
A 2022 article published in Open Orthopedics Journal surveyed athletic trainers working in professional, collegiate, and military sports medicine to evaluate ZetrOZ’s sustained acoustic medicine technology. The study found that sam® is a “fast, simple topical application yielding rapid healing without causing additional trauma to suffering athletes.” The study also included follow-up interviews with the athletic trainers. The researchers reported that “Candid input from professional athletic and military ATs shows a consensus that SAM is a superior healing technology.”
Sustained acoustic medicine works by increasing blood vessel diameters to improve blood flow. That increases oxygenated hemoglobin at the therapy site and removes cytokine enzymes and cellular waste, resulting in more rapid healing and reduced pain.
“We’re always pleased to hear from care providers that our wearable ultrasound units are delivering relief to patients, regardless of whether they are athletes competing in their sports, members of the military serving our country, or people just going about their everyday lives,” Lewis said.
ZetrOZ sam® technology was developed, in part, with funding from the National Institute of Health, National Science Foundation, Department of Defense, and NASA. ZetrOZ Systems products are designed and manufactured in the United States and are protected by 46 U.S. patents.

North America’s largest advanced battery event brings original equipment manufacturers, business leaders, and top-industry companies together to discover ground-breaking products like high-voltage cables and safety-critical solutions for commercial electric vehicles.
SAINT-LAURENT, Quebec, September 7, 2023 (Newswire.com)
ProEV, a division of Electrical Components International, is proud to be exhibiting at The Battery Show, the premier event for the North American battery and EV ecosystem. The event, from September 12-14 at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, Michigan, brings together more than 15,000 engineers and business leaders from more than 775 battery and EV manufacturers to spotlight the latest developments in commercial EV high-voltage technology.
ProEV, the center of excellence for electric vehicles at ECI, will display and demonstrate its newest emerging electrification and high-voltage cable technology and safety-critical solutions at Booth 1957. The company said it expects the demonstrations to generate noteworthy discussions on high-voltage cables, which are essential in the development of commercial EVs.
“The Battery Show offers an unparalleled opportunity to exhibit our technology and meet with the top industry companies,” said Jarred Knecht, President of ProEV. “It is a significant platform for conversations around evolving technology. Attendees can anticipate an enlightening experience from ProEV’s participation.”
Knecht said one strength of The Battery Show is how it creates opportunities for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to visit and learn from exhibitors about the supply chain for the electric vehicle market and how to partner with other manufacturers.
“We are always keeping up-to-date on the latest technologies to make sure we understand what is coming up in the future, and The Battery Show allows us to garner ideas with potential partners on how we can advance technology,” Knecht said. “We can show new technical solutions, like how we are working with new interconnect solutions, more advanced connectors, more advanced high-voltage systems. We are inspecting and tracing all of our products using our proprietary AI, KonnectAI, a gap creator that is in line with our autonomous, zero-defect future.”
Knecht said the show also will allow ProEV and other suppliers to demonstrate the strength of their supply chains and their ability to deliver what OEMs need. “We have long-term agreements with our customers, so their supply is solid,” he said. “We have allocated capacity and support all raw materials, so they are protected. The theme today, and that we will see at the show, is about how to protect the supply chain in the future and learn and evolve from the past. We want to make sure it is solid because now, as volumes are already climbing.”
The Battery Show also provides opportunities for component manufacturers who are not yet involved in vehicle electrification.
“If they want to figure out how they could use their products in electric vehicles, or manufacture different products for EV, they should definitely attend the show to educate themselves on where there might be opportunities and establish supply partners,” Knecht said. “Any OEM that is building anything electric should attend this show because it gives them a perspective on the underlying componentry and technologies of what’s available and what’s coming.”
To meet the ProEV team at The Battery Show, schedule an onsite meeting by contacting Catherine Dela Cruz at [email protected]. Individual sessions can provide exclusive opportunities for an in-depth examination of ProEV’s latest electrification and high-voltage solutions and discussion about safety-critical components.
